High-efficiency production of xylene/trimethylbenzene from benzene/toluene with methanol is a potential way to promote the implementation on coupled cycle development strategy petrochemical and coal chemical industry optimize resource structure. At same time, relying innovation catalytic new materials, physical chemistry, intelligent capture technology, process engineering, other principles methods, p-xylene (PX) trimethylbenzene (TMB) higher added value were prepared by C6-8~arene methylation, which could elevate level methylation field improve competitiveness industry. This paper focuses one-step reaction benzene or toluene obtain high-purity (BM-PX/TM-PX), xylene mesitylene (XM-TMB). The mechanism preparation high-performance catalyst reviewed. high selectivity PX obtained precisely controlling pore size acid site distribution zeolites was emphasized.
